Your home’s septic tank is one of the most important systems it has – it helps to take dirty water and waste away from your home, cleans it, and drains it out into your soil. Without a septic tank, the waste that leaves your home would sit under your home, build up over time, and create much more serious damage over time. When it comes to making sure your septic tank is always working the way it should be, there is no other septic tank company to hire other than Septic Blue of Raleigh!
Here at Septic Blue of Raleigh, we provide you with reliable septic tank services such as cleaning, installation, pumping, inspection, repair, and maintenance. There is no septic tank issue we can’t solve, and we can get any septic tank working properly. We are a well-known name in Raleigh when it comes to the health and function of your septic tank.
If you’re looking for simple ways to keep your septic tank system healthy and functioning properly, our team came up with some of the top tips to help you maintain your septic tank between your annual visits with Septic Blue of Raleigh. Keep reading to hear them…
4 Tips for Septic System Owners:
1. Pump it regularly
Many homeowners don’t think they have to pump their own septic tanks, and while that is partially true, it is your responsibility to give us a call for septic pumping services. Clogged drains are the most common reason for septic tanks not working as they should. Our team recommends pumping your septic tanks every 2-5 years depending on the age of your home, how many people live in your home, etc.
2. Conserve water
We know that conserving water is easier said than done, but this is honestly one of the greatest things you can do to ensure your septic tank always works properly. Reducing the amount of water going in and out of your septic tanks will allow them to not work as much and as hard. You can conserve water by taking showers more regularly than baths, or using front loading washing machines since they use 1/3 less water than top-loading washing machines do.
3. Avoid harmful products
Cleaning products that are marketed to cleaning out your drains quickly and effectively don’t always hold up to their promises. While they do help to clean out your pipes and drains quickly, harsh chemicals aren’t good for your pipes long term. We recommend going a more natural route by using household items such as white vinegar. Vinegar is just as effective as cleaning your septic tank pipes as harsh chemicals are, and odds are you already have it in your home!
4. Hire a septic tank company
If you aren’t sure what to do when it comes to ensuring your septic tank works properly, we always recommend getting a Septic Blue of Raleigh team member over to your house. We will inspect your septic tank, perform maintenance and repairs when needed, and we will always make sure your septic tank is working properly!
